strictly to the various government entities in the past, cyber crime is a growing problem. Law enforcement does not
have the resources to counter the problem, and frequently turns victims away.
In daily life, many people forget that they are part of a global society, regardless of how remote or secluded their own life may appear.
Everyone using
today's technologies, and some that do not, are only a few mouse clicks away from friends, family, coworkers. So is your information.
Criminal enterprises have learned how to take advantage of this. Terrorists, crime syndicates and gangs are only a few mouse clicks
or a text message away from each other as well.
With the ease of modern communications, many security leaks and breeches have been exposed. Many have resulted in criminals
exploiting innocent victims for identity theft, fraud, and worse crimes. Victims vary: individuals, small businesses, large corporations
and government operations.
These same exposure points, which easily allow criminals to target their victims, also expose the criminals.
Unfortunately, few people are
trained or experienced in turning the tables on these criminal elements. This is an area of law enforcement and intelligence that is gaining
